As of Sunday, March 22, 2020, McDonald’s Canada will no longer be offering take-out service at its restaurants across Canada due to COVID-19 concerns.

In a statement posted on its website, the company said “this means our dining rooms will now be completely closed. In addition, we will also stop offering curbside pickup.”

Drive-Thru and McDelivery remain available:

“However, Drive‑thru and McDelivery service will still be available for those seeking convenient and affordable food options while they practice social distancing.”

The company said some restaurants may still continue to offer take-out in areas where a specific need exists, such as locations near hospitals and healthcare facilities.

Harvey’s Offers Free Delivery Through March 29, 2020

In response to growing concerns around COVID-19, Harvey’s is offering free delivery through Uber Eats and DoorDash until March 29, 2020.

For DoorDash, free delivery is available on orders of $5 or more, while free delivery via Uber Eats is available on orders of $15 or higher.

Additionally, Harvey’s is shifting to take-out, mobile order and pay ahead as well as delivery and drive-thru where applicable. Dine-in service is no longer available until further notice.

IKEA Canada Closes All Locations Nationwide Over COVID-19 Risk

Home furnishing retailer IKEA announced today that it is temporarily closing all store locations across Canada until further notice as a precautionary measure due to the ongoing risk of COVID-19.

“Our top priority during these challenging times continues to be health and safety. Our communities are working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to support these efforts, we will temporarily close all stores across the country to support social distancing efforts and based on recommendations from local health authorities,” said Michael Ward, CEO and chief sustainability officer, IKEA Canada.

While the chain is closing all brick-and-mortar locations, IKEA will remain open online at IKEA.ca, offering home delivery services as well as store Click & Collect pick-up between 11 a.m – 6 p.m. local time. Ikea is also extending all current commercial offers until April 30, 2020.

IKEA says it will continue to support its 7,300 co-workers through its comprehensive benefits package and paid leave policy during temporary closure.
